WHAT ARE ZIPS?

WHERE DID ZIPS COME FROM?
ZIPS were inspired by the Maori dance of "Poi." The Maoris were the native people of New Zealand and "Poi" is their word for "ball on a cord." These innately cool people used rocks flung from flax rope to train their warriors and for the women to attract a partner. Poi has been part of the Maori culture for centuries and fire sets have been created recently to give a more intense performance. ZIPS are a safer alternative to tossing fire around your body and are just as amusing and beneficial!
